New Residents for Woodhaven, Queens NYC a Haven in The City!

If you are looking to buy a house or rent, Woodhaven, Queens NYC is a great place to live. Here are some of the things Woodhaven has to offer. Woodhaven is a Business Improvement District, so that we have clean streets, 7 days a week graffiti-free stores and security along Woodhaven's Jamaica Avenue. We have a security patrol that patrols within our area between Park Lane South to the north, Atlantic Avenue to the south and Elderts Lane west and east to 100th Street. They observe suspicious activity, abandoned cars, graffiti, chronic noise and report potholes. For homeowners, the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation offers a low interest home improvement loan (718) 805-0202. In the summer we have Park events in our Forest Park and performances at the Forest Park Bandshell for adults and children. In October we have the "Wonderful Woodhaven Street Festival." This Street Fair on Jamaica Avenue from 80th Street to Woodhaven Blvd. includes rides, games, arts & crafts, clothing booths, food and entertainment. In December we have a holiday Tree lighting ceremony where you can meet Santa, Rudolph, Frosty and other cartoon characters. The next day we have a parade that starts at 100th Street and ends at Franklin K. Lane High School. All the local Woodhaven children participate in the parade. The children get a free hat, buttons, cookies from McDonalds and free pizza from Dominos. For the month of December the Woodhaven Business Improvement District and the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation have music and lights along the avenue for your shopping pleasure. You can also take a free picture with Santa Claus! We have an after school program at PS 97 and Franklin K. High School. The Woodhaven library offers a reading program once a week. We even have our own McDonald's with a playland. Scaturros and other food stores run sales with store coupons which can be used with product coupons. If you need any houseware items or anything our many general stores have everything. If you don't see it, just ask the courteous sales help.
